All-on-4

The goal is to provide a stable, fixed solution that looks natural and allows you to chew comfortably again.

What is All-on-4?

“All-on-4” is a surgical technique used to replace an entire arch of missing or failing teeth using as few as four strategically placed dental implants.

Instead of replacing each tooth individually, four to six implants are placed in the jaw to support a fixed set of prosthetic teeth. These implants act as anchors for a full-arch bridge that restores function, appearance, and stability.

For many patients, this treatment replaces:

  • Loose or painful teeth
  • Failing crowns and bridges
  • Advanced gum disease cases
  • Ill-fitting dentures

The goal is to provide a stable, fixed solution that looks natural and allows you to chew comfortably again.

Am I a candidate?

Not everyone is a candidate — and that is important.

Ideal candidates often include patients who:

  • Have multiple failing or missing teeth
  • Have advanced periodontal disease
  • Are frustrated with dentures
  • Have sufficient bone to support implants (or are candidates for grafting)
  • Are medically stable

We carefully evaluate:

  • Bone quality and volume (with 3D imaging)
  • Medical history
  • Smoking status
  • Bite forces and clenching habits
  • Overall expectations

This is an incredibly important decision. It is not just a procedure — it is a long-term rehabilitation of your entire bite.

Choosing the right patient, the right plan, and the right surgical team is critical.

Is it done under IV sedation?

Yes — in most cases, All-on-4 treatment is performed under IV sedation.

You are:

  • Asleep
  • Comfortable
  • Closely monitored

Because this procedure is more involved than single implant placement, sedation allows the surgery to be performed safely and comfortably.

Will I have teeth the same day?

In many cases, yes.

If conditions are ideal, we can place implants and deliver a temporary fixed prosthesis the same day.

This allows you to leave the office with teeth that are:

  • Fixed (not removable)
  • Esthetic
  • Functional (with dietary modifications during healing)

However, not every patient qualifies for immediate loading. In some cases, a short healing period is recommended before attaching teeth.

Safety and long-term stability always come first.

What is the typical timeline?

Every case is individualized, but generally:

Day of surgery

  • Removal of failing teeth (if needed)
  • Implant placement
  • Temporary fixed teeth delivered (if appropriate)

Healing phase

  • Approximately 3–6 months
  • Soft diet
  • Regular follow-up visits

Final prosthesis

  • After implants have fully integrated
  • A custom, durable final bridge is fabricated in collaboration with your restorative dentist or prosthodontist

Collaboration with your restorative dentist

Full-arch treatment is a team effort. We work closely with:

  • Your general dentist
  • A prosthodontist (when indicated)
  • The laboratory team

Implant placement must be prosthetically driven — meaning implants are placed where the final teeth need to be, not simply where bone is available.

This collaboration is critical for long-term success.

What is recovery like?

Most patients experience:

  • Swelling for several days
  • Mild to moderate discomfort
  • Temporary dietary restrictions (soft food diet during healing)

Most patients return to light activity within a few days.

Because the temporary teeth are fixed, many patients report an immediate improvement in comfort and confidence compared to dentures.

How much does it cost?

Full-arch implant treatment is a significant investment.

 Costs vary depending on:

  • Number of implants
  • Need for extractions
  • Bone grafting
  • Type of final prosthesis

We will:

  • Submit claims to your insurance
  • Provide a detailed financial breakdown
  • Offer payment plan options when available
  • Our goal is transparency and planning — not surprises.

This is a major decision

Full-arch implant treatment can be life-changing.

It can:

  • Restore confidence
  • Improve chewing function
  • Eliminate denture instability
  • Improve quality of life

But it is not appropriate for everyone.

Complications can occur. Bone loss, implant failure, prosthetic fractures, and hygiene challenges are real risks — especially if the treatment is not properly planned or maintained.

Choosing a surgeon trained not only in implant placement, but also in managing complications and long-term problems, is essential.

This procedure requires:

  • Surgical expertise
  • Prosthetic planning
  • Understanding of bite dynamics
  • Long-term follow-up care

We are committed to helping you make the right decision, not the fast decision.

If done correctly, full-arch implant treatment provides incredible value and can dramatically improve quality of life.

If done poorly, it can create significant challenges.

Our role is to guide you safely and responsibly.
